The Paris presentation and the new 20 October feature
Formula E published a video feature on the Opel GSE 27FE on 20 October, introducing the car prepared for 2026/27. It provides a useful moment to organise the project’s milestones. The Paris Motor Show livery reveal took place on 12 October, following Opel’s announcement on 7 October. This guide preserves that premiere date rather than moving it to its own publication date.
Black, silver and yellow for the new generation
Opel describes the final design through three colour blocks, black, silver and yellow, alongside Lightspeed Stripes graphics. Changes from the testing livery include a central silver section. These elements establish the GEN4 project’s visual identity. The appearance of a launch car does not, by itself, provide a measurement of its speed or efficiency during a race.
Evans and Pourchaire: the confirmed pairing
Opel’s announcement on 25 August confirms Mitch Evans and Théo Pourchaire for the 2026/27 campaign. Evans brings Formula E experience, while Pourchaire enters a new category. APEX’s interpretation: that combination makes their feedback during preparation interesting to compare. Experience of a championship and adaptation to a new car are different contributions that need bringing together in the work with engineers.
The next sporting reference is Jeddah
The official calendar checked on 21 October places the opening two races in Jeddah on 18 and 19 December 2026. The season has 21 races, with Monaco on 1 May 2027 as its first European round. For assessing Opel, the useful reference will become the complete package operating in competition: pace, energy management and the team’s execution throughout the race weekend.
