LN4 Fusion is the new name in the selection
Formula 2 announced the 11 teams selected for the 2027–2029 seasons on 28 October. Ten outfits from the current grid continue, with LN4 Fusion completing the new cycle. Each will enter two cars, maintaining the total at 22. It is an important confirmation of the championship’s structure for the next three years, ahead of every driver pairing becoming final and each team presenting its programme.
The complete list and sporting licences
The table gives the names and licence codes published by the championship, following the announcement’s alphabetical order. A code describes the team’s sporting licence; it does not list the nationalities of its future drivers. This provides readers with a reference for following announcements under each name while keeping the structure of the grid separate from the identity of the people who will occupy the cars.

Drivers are confirmed through separate announcements
Existing agreements already supply concrete examples: Joshua Duerksen has been confirmed by Hitech, Laurens van Hoepen will move to MP Motorsport and Brando Badoer will step up from Formula 3 with Rodin. These are announcements for the 2027 season that preceded the team selection. They show how the grid comes together in practice: team selection and driver agreements are distinct confirmations that need to be followed separately. These examples are not an exhaustive list of every seat confirmed so far.

The new cycle meets a calendar with fresh challenges
The 2027 calendar published by the FIA contains 14 rounds, with Istanbul and Mexico City among the new destinations. The opening event is scheduled for Sakhir on 12–14 March, followed by Jeddah on 19–21 March. The Yas Island finale runs on 10–12 December. APEX’s interpretation is that the team selection and calendar can be read together, since preparing a season also means organising work around a different sequence of circuits and demands.
Who is behind LN4 Fusion
Formula 2’s earlier official release identifies Lando Norris as a co-founder and confirms the acquisition of selected AIX Racing assets. That announcement also named Rene Rosin as Team Principal and Guillaume Capietto as Racing Director for the wider operation. At that stage, the team was entering the selection process. Today’s announcement adds confirmation of its place on the grid. The sequence matters: launching a project and securing an entry are separate stages even when the intended destination is the same.
A development pathway beyond the F2 programme
In its own 28 October release, LN4 Fusion links the F2 programme with its Italian F4, European Formula Regional and Formula 3 projects. A British F4 presence is also being prepared. APEX’s reading is that the sporting value of such a pathway will depend on the quality of work in each category. Useful markers for the F2 debut remain continuity of running, the experience of the selected drivers and progress across a complete weekend. Qualifying and races will supply the direct comparison currently missing.
