Three confirmations, rather than the complete grid

This guide brings together three official announcements about Formula 2 in 2027, checked on 19 October. The table preserves the original announcement dates rather than presenting the moves as breaking news today. It does not claim to cover every occupied or available seat. For each name, the useful distinction is whether the driver steps up from Formula 3 or moves within F2.

Brando Badoer continues with Rodin

Rodin Motorsport has confirmed Brando Badoer for 2027. F2’s announcement on 7 October says the Italian steps up after finishing eighth in Formula 3, with four podiums including a Monaco Feature Race victory. Continuing within the same organisation provides a starting point without guaranteeing the same results in a different category.

Stromsted and Slater will be teammates again

The announcement on 6 October places Noah Stromsted at Invicta Racing alongside Freddie Slater, his 2026 F3 teammate. The Dane finished tenth in that category and won at the Red Bull Ring. Invicta therefore has a confirmed pairing. This guide does not fill other teams’ remaining seats through assumptions or unconfirmed market reports.

Duerksen brings experience to Hitech

Hitech announced Joshua Duerksen on 2 October as its first confirmed driver for 2027. Unlike the two incoming rookies above, he already competes in F2, having debuted in 2024. Moving teams involves adapting to different people and working procedures, rather than learning an entirely new category. His experience and the rookies’ progression represent different preparations for the same grid.

An evolved car changes the preparation

The official 2027 car launch describes retaining the current chassis, redesigning the front and rear wings and adding an onboard starter. Calling it a new car therefore does not mean every component is entirely new. APEX’s interpretation: existing experience remains useful, but needs checking against the configuration that will actually race. Badoer’s photograph is from F3 in Austria in 2025, rather than the 2027 Rodin F2 car.
