Voisin enters Andretti’s development programme

Andretti has announced Callum Voisin as its Official Development Driver ahead of the 2026/27 season. Formula E’s 29 October release specifies simulator work and race preparation alongside the engineers. The relationship continues after the March rookie test at Jarama. APEX’s reading is that the appointment should be assessed through his contribution to the team’s programme, rather than an assumed change to the racing grid.

A route linking single-seaters and Porsche

Voisin arrives after winning the 2026 Porsche Carrera Cup GB title. Porsche’s official Silverstone report records him securing the championship with two races remaining, while its Brands Hatch account confirms his ninth victory. In single-seaters, Formula 3’s 2024 Spa report documents his win from pole for Rodin, managing three Safety Car restarts from the lead. Those results supply useful context for the recruitment without directly measuring his speed in a GEN4 car. The different categories remain distinct reference points when assessing the move.

Nissan retains two different support roles

Nissan retains Sam Bird as Reserve and Development Driver and Abbi Pulling as Rookie and Simulator Driver. They support race drivers Oliver Rowland and Zane Maloney. APEX’s reading is that the different titles matter. Following each driver’s progress requires keeping simulator preparation, reserve availability and actual participation in a session separate. Confirmation of one responsibility does not automatically announce the others, and the wording of the team’s release remains the appropriate reference.

Winter preparation has clear reference dates

Andretti had announced its leadership change on 2 October: Campbell Hobson takes the Team Principal role while Roger Griffiths moves into an advisory position. The same release confirms the Jake Dennis–Felipe Drugovich race pairing and the Nissan customer partnership. The next shared milestone identified in Nissan’s announcement is testing at Jarama from 16 to 20 November. The official calendar places the season opening at Jeddah on 18–19 December, with two races. These dates provide a framework for following the teams’ preparation.

How to read the appointments

APEX analysis: a simulator announcement identifies who contributes to preparation, rather than who will drive in an E-Prix. A useful check starts with the exact position and the activities specified. Here, the releases describe support responsibilities. Following the tests can show how the teams use those resources; the appointments do not yet establish a competitive advantage and are not promises of promotion.
