Norris claims his third win of the season

Lando Norris won the São Paulo Grand Prix on 8 November, completing 71 laps in 1:35:23.504. Starting from pole, the McLaren driver beat Max Verstappen by 14.602 seconds. Isack Hadjar completed the podium, giving Red Bull two cars in the top three. It was Norris’s third victory of the 2026 season. F1’s official results page still labels the classification provisional at the verification time for this article.

The changing conditions shaped the race

Formula 1’s report describes a wet start followed by a drying circuit and another shower towards the end. Norris managed those transitions and retained a comfortable margin at the finish. Verstappen recovered from 21st on the grid to second, a net gain of 19 positions. Hadjar finished 24.485 seconds behind the winner, strengthening Red Bull’s result after a qualifying session in which only one of its drivers had reached Q3.

The top ten at the finish

George Russell and Kimi Antonelli finished fourth and fifth, securing Mercedes’ constructors’ title. Oscar Piastri was sixth. Leclerc passed Lawson on the penultimate lap, while Hamilton and Hülkenberg completed the points positions.

Mercedes settles the constructors’ contest

Antonelli spun twice, including once before the start, after leading early in the race. Nevertheless, Mercedes’ 22 points brought confirmation of the title from F1. Further down the order, Rafael Câmara finished 20th on his Haas debut. Lance Stroll retired and Valtteri Bottas did not start. APEX analysis: outright pace mattered, but adapting to the changing grip linked all the phases of this Grand Prix, from its wet opening to the final shower.
