Verstappen wins a wet-track Sprint

Max Verstappen won the Singapore Sprint on Saturday, 10 October, ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc. Kimi Antonelli finished fourth. Rain delayed the start by about half an hour; racing began after two formation laps behind the Safety Car, on intermediate tyres.

The order below was checked against Formula1.com, RacingNews365 and GPblog. Gaps for drivers who finished come from the RacingNews365 results table. FIA classification and subsequent stewards' decisions take precedence; this table is not presented as a final FIA document.

Why the drivers retired

Crashes dominated the retirements, but there were also stoppages involving the cars' operation. The table separates the observed incident from a technical diagnosis. Teams still need to confirm detailed damage assessments.

Russell: from the lead into the wall

Russell passed Verstappen at the start, but lost control exiting the final corner of the opening lap and hit the wall. RacingNews365 describes early throttle application and contact with the white line; reports indicate lost grip on the wet surface. The consulted sources do not provide a mechanical-failure diagnosis for this crash.

Hadjar, Colapinto and the three-car collision

RacingNews365 reports that Hadjar stopped after a lack of engine braking, while Colapinto's Alpine shut down during the Safety Car period. These describe symptoms, without confirming a failed component. In the other incident, Albon hit Bortoleto's car and Bottas ran into Albon. Williams replaced the front wing and Albon continued for a while before retiring. Their teams retired Bortoleto and Bottas after the contact.

Piastri is P14 despite not finishing

Norris and Piastri collided at Turn 5 on the final lap while fighting for fourth. Norris continued and finished eighth; Piastri stopped. Formula1.com nevertheless lists Piastri as classified 14th, a lap down. DNF describes a failure to finish; it does not automatically mean exclusion from the classification. We do not assign a penalty or an FIA verdict before a decision is published.

What still needs confirmation

The internal causes of Hadjar's and Colapinto's problems, damage assessments and responsibility for incidents require team statements or FIA documents. At the check, the official results page had not yet loaded the Sprint table, and the FIA document list did not provide classification. The official Formula1.com report already confirms the winner, driver order and main incidents.
