Validation comes on track

Lando Norris explained on Thursday, October 8, that McLaren has analysed its lack of straight-line speed over the last two weekends. The driver hopes for progress in Singapore but does not present the fix as an established fact. In the FIA transcript, he says he needs to run on track before assessing the outcome of the team’s work.

The problem extends beyond Malaysia

Norris says the difficulties were also apparent in Baku. Sepang’s characteristics may have contributed to performance but do not explain the entire deficit on their own. The official statements consulted do not describe the technical mechanism in enough detail to attribute a precise cause or a lap-time gain to the solution here.

CONFIRMED · The investigation and hope of improvement are confirmed. The on-track fix remains to be verified.

A circuit with different demands

Norris notes that straights matter less at Marina Bay than at the recent rounds, without making acceleration irrelevant. APEX interpretation: a good result in Singapore should be considered alongside the car’s behaviour rather than automatically treated as proof that every problem has disappeared.

The schedule and next benchmark

Singapore has a Sprint format, with first practice scheduled for Friday at 11:30 in Romania according to Formula 1. The Race Hub keeps the timetable and sources in one place. Until verified observations and results are published, APEX does not assign a measured advantage to the solution or predict the weekend’s standings.
